Angelique Kerber – Kristina Mladenovic Match Prediction | 26-08-2019 13:00

Lets see who comes out on top! Pavlyuchenkova has now won 6-0 in three of the four sets she has played here, and is a real threat to win the title. Today, three Grand Slam champions take center stage as Garbine Muguruza, Victoria Azarenka, and Angelique Kerber look to advance to the quarterfinals. Day 3 at the Monterrey Open was marked by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova not dropping a game in her match against Ivana Jorovic.

Kerbers form seems to have dropped since her win at Wimbledon and she will be determined to turn things around. Angelique Kerber has historically done well in Asia as she has made it into the final of the Pan Pacific Open and Hong Kong Open in the past. As far as this match is concerned, Kerber is a much higher ranked player when compared to Kristina Mladenovic and she should be more than capable of winning. On the other side of the coin, Angelique Kerber has also had a tough few weeks as she only managed to make the second round of the Wuhan Open and the third round of the US Open.

Muchova is a player who doesnt like to just stand on the baseline and rally all day. Kerber will have to stay calm and focused, make sure she is getting a lot of balls back, and taking her opportunities when they come. She was able to do this after the first set at Indian Wells, and now that she has a better read on Muchovas game, I like her to win again here. She is great about taking the match to her opponents, and frustrating them. Kerber wins, and it wont be as close as their first meeting.

Dont think Sabine will get away with it here. Funny stuff that. In any casehes out of control lol. Although she did dig really deep in Indian Wells where she usually doesnt excel. Sabine is out their in 5th heaven(is that the term?). Maybe its the color green which sparkles her game. Angies not going to like it one bit and shell do all she can just to avoid having to watch another Sabine episode in person. Thats the only time Ive seen Sabine win by being sobre lol.

Muguruza will have to play at a higher level if she wants to be Gasparyan. Muguruza was down a double break in the first set, and survived three set points in the second set to get the 6-4, 7-6(4) win. On the other hand, Garbine Muguruza had a much tighter two set encounter. Margarita Gasparyan had no troubles in the opening round of the Monterrey Open, dropping one game to Victoria Rodriguez in a resounding 6-1 6-0 victory.

Personally I love watching her play but each to their own. Not everyone is going to go out there and smash the living daylights out of the ball. Kerber has gone through matches where she has been too defensive but theres definitely been more intent to be aggressive this year. She has a name! I dont agree with pusher. Kerber can hit plenty of winners though.

I feel she will end up being one of the mosi underachieved girls on tour if things dont go her way soon. You need more than that. A massive serve is just that, a massive serve. Not sure why, but even after some of her bitter defeats, she never did anything to really improve or change her approach. IMO, her game has seemingly retrogressed.

Both of these players are struggling so it is will be very interesting to see how they try to turn things around. Angelique Kerber is exceptional at exploiting issues with serves and considering the experience and accomplishments of the German, I see her turning her form around and winning this match. While Kerber has struggled to win matches, she has no obvious issues while Kristina Mladenovic has big problems with her serve.

This match will present Kristina Mladenovic with similar challenges and Kerber is an exceptional defensive tennis and she will test the French players serve. Kristina Mladenovic enters this tournament after a poor few weeks as she lost in the opening round of both the Pan Pacific Open and the Wuhan Open. Kristina Mladenovic has been struggling with her serve and this was evident in her last match as shehit 6 double faults and had her serve broken on 6 occasions.
