Our Prediction:

Club Brugge will win

Club Brugge – Galatasaray Match Prediction | 18-09-2019 12:55

If either win this match, then the title will be theirs to lose on the final day. Both come into this penultimate fixture with 66 points, though it is Sundays hosts that currently edge the title race on goal difference. Its been an excellent season for both Galatasaray and Basaksehir, whore neck and neck as the season draws to a close.

The visitors have certainly steadied the ship following last seasons failings. Both of those finishes were considered poor for Dortmund, who limped in to fourth place in the Bundesliga last term. Thats unlikely to happen this time around, with Favre invigorating the squad and putting in an early challenge to Bayern. The Bundesliga outfit finished a distant third behind Tottenham and Real Madrid, before going out in the second knockout round of the Europa League to Red Bull Salzburg.

Champions League - Group A

The Belgians will hope that the trio all repeat their failings of last season with each side failing to make it out of their group. The hosts are the early pacesetters in Belgium, kicking off with six wins and a draw from their first seven. That unbeaten start will have given them plenty of confidence, but its going to be tough for them to bridge the gap between Dortmund, Monaco and Atletico. However, theyre unlikely to underperform again.

Axel Witsel The Belgian international scored twice in the wins against Greuther Furth and RB Leipzig and enjoys a good record against Club Brugge from his Standard days.Marco Reus Also scored in those aforementioned two matches, having been one of Germanys goalscorers at the World Cup too.Christian Pulisic American winger has scored 12 times and produced 20 assists in his first 99 Dortmund appearances, and his return to the line-up is a big boost.

Last season we once again saw a two horse race for the title over in Ukraine, and unfortunately for Dynamo, they came up short as Shakhtar Donetsk walked away with the bragging rights. Dynamo Kiev have threatened to become big players on the European stage in the past, but never to the point where they were able to maintain that pressure. Theyve come back fighting in the early stages of the new campaign, but theres still a long way to go before they can even think about reclaiming the title.

Borussia Dortmund Team News, Updates and Facts

Jelle Vossen His match-winning penalty off the bench against Lokeren was his fourth goal of the season from five apperances.Hans Vanaken Alongside his two goals, the midfielder has also laid on five assists in just eight matches so far.Arnaut Danjuma The 21-year-old winger has scored three and set up a further two from his eight matches since signing in the summer from NEC Nijmegen.

After all, the hosts have shipped an average of just 0.69 goals at home, while the visitors have surrendered only 0.56 on the road. Firstly Under 2.5 Goals stands out. From a betting point of view, there are two angles of attack. Neither side has given a great deal away in their respective home and away games, so its easy to feel that a lack of goals is slightly more likely than the current odds suggest.

Hes home now. Club Brugge are favorites to win Jupiler Pro League this season and they started off the new campaign in a brilliant fashion. Just as LASK, they have a new man in charge, Philippe Clement, who is a well-known figure among Blauw-Zwart faithuls. Clement has decided to step down as Genk manager after securing the title with them to take over at Club Brugge, where he spent ten long years as a player, and was a member of staff (scout, assistant, even caretaker on two occasions) for six seasons.

Galatasaray vs Istanbul Basaksehir Stats

The only blemish on their record was a 1-1 draw with Antwerp, but they have beaten Standard Liege 2-1 in the Super Cup and also toppled likely title rivals Anderlecht 2-1 back in August Hans Vanaken scoring in both of those wins. Club Brugge are unbeaten so far this season, winning seven of their eight matches. Last time out, they came from a goal down to beat Lokeren 2-1 with Benoit Poulain equalising and Jelle Vossen scoring the winner from the penalty spot deep in stoppage time.

The Belgians have lost nine of their last 10 matches in the Champions League. While the hosts have started well, were going with an away win for Dortmund. Were also tipping the visitors to win and both teams to score, with BTTS landing in nine straight Champions League ties for Dortmund. The hosts should have enough quality to find the net after averaging 2.7 goals per game in the league this term, although the step up to Europes highest level should be too much for them. Their last clash here saw them draw 3-3 with Istanbul Basaksehir, which followed four straight defeats to the likes of Copenhagen and Leicester.

They will expect to improve on their Champions League campaign of 12 months ago, when they failed to win any of their six games. Dortmund have won two of their first three matches, claiming victories over Leipzig and Frankfurt. Favres side look much better prepared, and they should get some joy away to a Brugge side who have an awful record in this competition.

Before all of that, though, weve got a few more important ties to settle. The UEFA Champions League qualifying journey continues this week, as a series of teams attempt to negotiate their way through the third round. Getting to that point opens the door for a sea of possibilities, which includes potential trips abroad to take on some of the biggest and best clubs that Europe has to offer. Theyre just a few steps away now from reaching the group stages which, in itself, is an incredibly exciting prospect.

Theyre still playing the same attacking football they played under Oliver Glasner, who took over at Wolfsburg this summer. Matches against Basel were quite even, but Austrian side was more clinical and Basel made some critical mistakes in defence. Phrase If it aint broke, dont fix it works just fine for Valerian Ismael, LASKs new manager. One thing really stands out all goals, seven of them over two legs, were scored in the 2nd half.
