Our Prediction:

Levante will win

Levante – Valladolid Match Prediction | 21-08-2019

Theyve had two tough games this week but ultimately suffered defeats to nil at both Atletico Madrid in La Liga and then Barcelona in the Copa del Rey as their 1st Leg advantage was overturned. Despite some excellent results, both sides come into this game within 4 points of the relegation places. Levante havent won in La Liga since early December and a convincing victory over Athletic Bilbao.

Theyve only been beaten in 2 of their 10 road games so far in La Liga, an outstanding return for a newly promoted team. In fact only 3 teams in the division can better their return of 14 points away from home and it has been their form on their own patch which has seen them slip down the table. That is largely down to their impressive away record this season. Overall the value here looks to lie with the visitors.

The team is winless in last six games in all competitions, but still stands three points clear off the red zone aheda of this important away clash with Levante. They lost the first leg 1-0 away (1-2 on aggregate). Valladolid were also eliminated from Copa del Rey after a 1-1 draw at home to Getafe in the reverse fixture on Tuesday evening.

Levante failed to keep the minimum one-goal cushion from the first leg of the last 16 round of Copa del Rey tie against Barcelona. They fell 3-0 on Thursday night at Camp Nou to get knocked out of the cup and can shift the entire focus on the league success now. Next up for them are mid-table rivals Real Valladolid in a winnable affair on Sunday evening at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.

Form Summary

After spending five years in Andalusia, Coke signed a three-year contract with Schalke on 31 July, 2016 for a fee of 5 million. The Spanish footballer, who is capable of playing as both full back and a winger, won three UEFA Europa League trophies with los Sevillanos (2014, 2015, 2016) and he made it to the Spanish Cup final in the 2015/2016 season with the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan outfit. Sevilla, though, failed to make life difficult for Barcelona in the title game.

The Frogs will thus finally have a chance to play a weaker opposition after facing Barcelona twice and Atletico Madrid once in past three outings. They previously saw off Barcelona 2-1 in their previous fixture at Estadioo Ciudad de Valencia. Levante were only defeated by Atletico Madrid after a second-half penalty from Antoine Griezmann last weekend at Esadio Wnda Metropolitano. The head coach Paco Lopez could have generally been happy with what he saw in these matches against Spains heavyweights.

However both need to be a bit careful in a season that is shaping up to see teams potentially need in excess of 40 points to beat the drop. This Sundays clash in La Liga features two sides who were knocked out of the Copa del Rey this week. Both Levante and Real Valladolid were tipped to struggle this term but have largely outperformed their pre-season expectations.

Pucela managed to save a point on a tough away fixture at Balaidos thanks to a 94th-minute goal from substitute Leandro Suarez. Valladolid were down by two goals on two occasions against Celta at the weekend, but they never gave up and showed a fantastic fighting spirit to claw their way back into the contest twice and eventually earn a massive point.

The result leaves them without a win in 6 in all competitions and Sergios men will be starting to get a bit edgy as they slip into a genuine relegation scrap. In truth though they will be delighted to have amassed 22 points over the first half of the season, the most of the newly promoted teams and it gives them a platform to push for survival. Valladolid were knocked out of the cup after a 1-1 home draw against Getafe.

How we calculate our stats

Los Levantinos experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 6-2 loss to Sevilla, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered. The newcomers are likely to leave their hearts on the field and we predict that they are going to give fans something to cheer about this time out. Real Valladolid, though, remained in the relegation zone in the La Liga standings, and they will be looking to record their first win of the season when they host Levante at their Estadio Jose Zorilla on Thursday evening. Real Valladolid were on the verge of suffering a loss to Celta Vigo at Estadio de Balaidos at the weekend, but Suarez eventually scored a late equalizer and helped la Pucela pick up one point from the match. You should know that Real Valladolid recorded a 3-2 win over Levante in their last meeting at Estadio Jose Zorilla.
