Spal (@2.0) vs Lecce (@3.9)

Our Prediction:

Spal will win

Spal – Lecce Match Prediction | 26-09-2019 15:00

We think that while Spal have not been at their best so far, they are a better team than Lecce on paper. This is a great chance for the home side to pick up their second win of the season, something we are backing them to do. Our second bet on the game involves goals, we think there will be a few here so we are going over 2.5.

Right now they are in the 15th place in the standings and will have to ensure that they continue with the good results in order to climb up to the upper part of the table and get away as far as possible from the relegation zone. However they didnt stop scoring, their goal difference from the last 5 matches is 10:8, and in their last 10 home games they scored at least 2 or more goals in 9 matches, so I believe that they will easily score on this occasion as well. They played great during the preseason and were on a streak of 8 games without a loss, but as soon as the season started, they started loosing. Spal surprised everyone with their incredible 2-1 victory over Lazio, which was their first win this season.

Spal vs Lecce match odds

However, they were completely outclassed at the weekend when they were beaten 4-1 against Napoli. They have so far yet to show any kind of consistency, and no real form to prove they are capable of cutting it in Serie A and surviving this season. Lecce have also won one, their victory came away in Torino which was a big surprise result.

Lecce isnt doing the best either, as they are currently dangerously low in the standings in 17th place. In their last 5 matches in all competitions, they scored 9 while conceding 7 goals, and thats a good sign that well see them net a goal in this match. So far they won only once this season and that 1-2 victory over Torino might be a glimmer of hope for them. Just like their opponents, they had a great preseason campaign, but as soon as they entered the top-flight, and started clashing with the Italian elite, they started to lose. They will do all they can to avoid another relegation, as they had just returned to Serie A this year.

Spal are certainly the better team on paper here and while they will be expected to survive relegation, Lecce could well find themselves going straight back down if they dont find a way of picking points up. Spal beat Lazio two weeks ago which was a great result for them, but instead of building on that they were brought back down to earth with a 3-0 defeat at Sassuolo.

They tend to disappoint on the road, with recent seasons usually sending down two of the three promoted sides. The visitors were able to shock Torino with a 2-1 win in their visit to Turin, but they returned to normal with a 4-1 thumping against Napoli at the weekend. Its set to be a tough campaign for the visitors, given the struggles which Serie Bs promoted trio have had in the top flight in recent years.

Moreover, the hosting side has scored in all the ten home matches they have played recently. Besides that, the traveling contingent has netted at least one goal in three of the last five away fixtures. Henceforth, there are more chances that the game will produce a couple of goals with the host leading by the end of the ninety minutes.

SPAL vs Lecce Stats

The host has won the previous home game in their schedule against Lazio with a 2-1 score. Interestingly both teams share a similar form on the table (LWLL) from their individual four encounters. Lecce went on to win the previous trip on road against Toronto in a 1-2 score. SPAL will be hosting the promoted team, Lecce, on their third home match of the SA games in this season.

Andrea Petagna is the player to keep an eye for, as he scored 2 goals since the beginning of their campaign. One of their important players, a 23-year-old midfielder Mohamed Fares is still recovering from a cruciate ligament rupture, and wont be available for this match, so the manager Leonardo Semplici will have to think of an appropriate substitute for him.

The Dutch centre-back, who was born in Zaandam on May 7, 1993, scored one goal in 22 appearances in the Eredivisie for Ajax before joining Club Brugge in 2015. Denswil quickly established himself as a first-team regular at Club Brugge and it has to be noted that he scored his first goal for the Blauw-Zwart in December 2015 in a 4-1 loss to Anderlecht. Stefano Denswil is a product of Ajax football academy.
